Books that Champion Motherhood

I am on a diligent quest to find comparable writing and stories about fatherhood. Thus far, my results are extremely limited. If anyone finds worthy titles to recommend, please let me know!

Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey
Five Minutes Peace by Jill Murphy
Hazel’s Amazing Mother by Rosemary Wells
Heckedy Peg by Audrey Wood (one of my favorites!)
The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown

  1. And don’t foget…
“This Quiet Lady” by Charlotte Zolotow and Anita Lobel.

“Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes” by DuBose Heyward and Marjorie Flack.

  2. Have you read, Cookies by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Jane Dyer? It has become my new favorite baby gift.

  3. How about Owl Moon by Jane Yolen? It’s a sweet story about a father who takes his child “owling” one winter night. It’s one of my favorites, and the pictures are beautiful! –Just a thought.

  4. For mommies…All the Places to Love is precious–by Patricia M…you know, the one who wrote Sarah, Plain and Tall.
